As the apples simmer slowly, the kitchen fills with the fragrance of autumn. Chopped fruit softens into sauce, then deepens in color as it reduces into a glossy butter. Cinnamon, ginger, and a touch of nutmeg lend warmth, while dates bring gentle sweetness. Spread on toast, spooned into morning oats, or tucked between cake layers, this apple butter carries the taste of the season in every bite.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m not a chef — just someone who loves to cook and needed a place to gather and share the recipes that have shaped my kitchen.

From the classics that are always on rotation to the discoveries I’ve stumbled upon along the way, you’ll find them here. Each recipe is shared in its original form, with Anthology’s Notes added at the end to reflect the tweaks and touches that suit our table.

Over the years I’ve tried to make many recipes my own, so you’ll also see those variations woven in.

Basically: cook, taste, adjust, and repeat.
