Cheese tip: This recipe shines with MacLaren’s Aged Cheddar, but sharp white cheddar works too.
Make-ahead: Assemble mac and cheese ahead, refrigerate, and bake just before serving.
Serving suggestion: Pair with roasted veggies or a crisp salad for balance.
Leftovers: Keep in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat gently with a splash of milk.

This mac and cheese is the definition of comfort — creamy sauce, tender pasta, and a golden topping of buttery crumbs. The recipe has been passed around family tables for years, earning its place as a favorite that children and grown-ups alike return to. Simple, satisfying, and nostalgic, it’s the kind of dish that makes the kitchen feel like home the moment it comes out of the oven.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m not a chef — just someone who loves to cook and needed a place to gather and share the recipes that have shaped my kitchen.

From the classics that are always on rotation to the discoveries I’ve stumbled upon along the way, you’ll find them here. Each recipe is shared in its original form, with Anthology’s Notes added at the end to reflect the tweaks and touches that suit our table.

Over the years I’ve tried to make many recipes my own, so you’ll also see those variations woven in.

Basically: cook, taste, adjust, and repeat.
